Elon Musk won the bet and built the world’s largest battery Tesla has completed construction of the world’s largest lithium-ion battery, the Tesla Hornsdale Power Reserve, in Australia. The 129 MWh battery near Jamestown will be charged by the French Hornsdale wind farm and thus be able to operate continuously. The generators will provide electricity to 30,000 Australian families who have been constantly suffering from a lack of electricity due to bad weather over the past year and a half. Head of Tesla Inc. Elon Musk congratulated his employees on the completion of the work, which was completed in record time. The fact is that having won the tender for the construction of the battery, Musk promised to meet within 100 days. No one pulled his tongue, but he himself said that if everything drags on longer than this period, the object will be handed over to the state for free. A large amount was at stake: the battery is estimated at $ 50 million, so Elon Musk did not hesitate and managed in 2 months. But here he cheated a little: the work officially started on September 29, although by that time the system was already operating at a design capacity of 50 megawatts. One way or another, the argument is not lost, and the Australian authorities are already testing a new battery. It is planned to launch it in a week – December 1.
